New “One Planet Sovereign Wealth Funds Research Forum” established in partnership with GRASFI
The One Planet Sovereign Wealth Funds are pleased to announce the formation of the One Planet Sovereign Wealth Funds Research Forum. The inaugural meeting of the Research Forum took place this week, on Tuesday 9th July, in the Élysée Palace.
The Research Forum, established in partnership with the Global Research Alliance for Sustainable Finance and Investment (GRASFI), brings together global sustainable finance experts from across world-leading universities and investment institutions.
The Research Forum will support the One Planet Sovereign Wealth Funds by identifying and
facilitating rigorous and impactful research projects relevant to the implementation of the One Planet SWF Framework, as well as providing training and capacity building for One Planet SWF members. There will also be a research dialogue where the latest research is shared with One Planet SWF members and One Planet Asset Managers members.
Dr Ben Caldecott, Co-Chair of GRASFI and Director of the Oxford Sustainable Finance Programme at the University of Oxford said, “We applaud these SWFs for collaborating on climate change alignment. Given their size, influence, and long-term investment horizons, they are uniquely placed among asset owners to promote and implement the alignment of finance with the Paris Agreement on Climate Change.”
He added “GRASFI and its Member Universities look forward to working closely with the One Planet SWFs. In addition to working with SWFs and their asset managers to undertake cutting-edge research on sustainable finance, our alliance of world-leading universities will also work to provide training and capacity building support. The effective implementation of the One Planet Sovereign Wealth Fund Framework is of global significance and we will contribute to this endeavour.”
