The Lee Kong Chian School of Business (LKCSB) at Singapore Management University (SMU) invites applications for an open-rank tenure-track faculty position (Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Full Professor) in the area of Sustainable Finance. We are seeking candidates with a strong research agenda and a passion for teaching, who can contribute to advancing the school’s excellence in sustainability research and education.

Sustainable finance is a research area with immense potential to create meaningful societal impact—a value that SMU deeply cares about. As part of SMU’s efforts to address global sustainability challenges, LKCSB is at the forefront of integrating sustainability into its research and education initiatives. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to work closely with the Singapore Green Finance Centre (SGFC), Singapore’s first Centre of Excellence in Green Finance, founded by Monetary Authority of Singapore and nine global financial institutions, and jointly managed by SMU and Imperial College Business School. POSITION DESCRIPTION
The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Conduct high-quality, impactful research in sustainable finance and related areas.
- Publish in top-tier finance, business, science, and interdisciplinary journals.
- Design and teach courses on sustainable finance at the undergraduate, master’s, MBA, and executive levels.
- Contribute to curriculum development for SMU’s innovative programs, including our sustainability-focused offerings.
- Collaborate with the Singapore Green Finance Centre (SGFC) to drive impactful research and thought leadership in sustainable finance.
- Engage with industry and policy-making communities to address critical challenges in sustainable finance.
QUALIFICATIONS
- A PhD in Finance, Economics, or a closely related field.
- A demonstrated track record (or strong potential for) high-quality research in finance, particularly in the context of sustainability, ESG, or impact investing.
- Evidence of teaching excellence at the undergraduate or postgraduate levels.
- A strong commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration and industry engagement.
- Candidates at the Associate and Full Professor levels should have an established record of scholarly impact, teaching excellence, and leadership in their field.
