Our Member Universities

The Board of GRASFI will receive applications from Prospective Member Universities. Applications will be considered at the next available Board meeting and new members will only be accepted when there is unanimity from the Board. 

1. Membership is open to world class research universities with a demonstrable research interest and record in sustainable finance and investment.

2. Each application should contain:

• details of the institution,
• the CVs of two proposed representatives,
• the institution’s area(s) of expertise in sustainable finance and investment,
• a statement setting out how the prospective Member University would contribute
  to and benefit from the Alliance.

3. The board will pay particular attention to whether Prospective Member Universities:

• add new jurisdictions to the Alliance,
• have demonstrable support for Alliance membership from multiple departments,
  schools, or faculties across the university, and
• are likely to be active members over the long term.

4. Prospective Member Universities should have approval to join the Alliance from their Vice Chancellor, Governing Body, or equivalent, or an appropriate delegated authority.

5. Prospective Member Universities commit to making a contribution of £13,800 for three years toward the operational expenses of GRASFI. 

6. Member Universities must be willing to contribute to the governance of GRASFI by:

• providing representatives to participate at member meetings;
• providing representatives who are willing to serve on the GRASFI board or its Subcommittees;
• providing senior faculty to contribute to paper review processes ahead of conferences and workshops;
• being willing to host events such as the annual GRASFI Conferences and PhD Workshops by rotation.
